Sharing really is caring: #dinnnerpartyYVR

#dinnnerpartyYVR invites Vancourites to share their dinner table in support of local charities

#dinnerpartyYVR presented by Cressey features 30 Vancouverites who open their homes and cook a meal for old and new friends to support their favourite charity. This year, the event on April 5 supports 26 different local and Canadian causes that will benefit from hobby chefs sharing their homes and dinner. Diners can participate by making a $40 donation to their favourite meal and the associated charity. 100% of the donations benefit the chosen causes.

“It’s amazing to see what can happen when you bring individuals, businesses, organizations, and charities together to create a unique experience that benefits the community. We all have something to share that makes our communities richer, more engaged, and quite frankly, more fun,” says Annika Reinhardt, Founder of Social Bites and producer of #dinnerpartyYVR.

#dinnerpartyYVR presenting partner Cressey is sharing its space, hosting the finale gathering at its Meccanica presentation center. The Cressey After Party will bring together more than 200 guests, hobby chefs, partners and charity members to facilitate more interaction and sharing of dinner party stories. The space also features two fully set-up show suites, which will make the event feel just like home.

Local carshare Modo joins #dinnerpartyYVR as transportation partner for the second time, sharing safe rides for diners and hosts to the Cressey After Party and matching all meal donations with the carsharing credits to help local charities deliver critical services throughout Metro Vancouver. In this way, both Modo and Cressey are demonstrating how businesses can support charity and community beyond strictly financial donations.

“Not only does #dinnerpartyYVR foster community through sharing—sharing space, sharing food and sharing in the experience of giving—but it also allows us to support local charities in a unique way,” says Hilary Henegar, Director of Marketing for Modo. “We recognize that transportation can be a huge expense, so we’re proud to able to donate vehicle use to help support the important work these organizations do to increase quality of life in our region.”
