Vancouver’s first Doors Open

Saturday, October 4, 2014
10 am – 5 pm

Enjoy free, behind the scenes access to the buildings that shape our city. Explore Vancouver’s civic, cultural, and historic facilities and learn about how they are designed and what happens inside at this all-ages event.

Doors Open Vancouver (DOV) is a one-day event that invites the public to enjoy free, behind the scenes access to popular Vancouver buildings and learn about civic services while experiencing Vancouver’s architectural, design, engineering and cultural heritage.

With 20 buildings participating in the inaugural DOV, it won’t be possible for you to visit every building. Plan in advance to explore your favourite buildings. Note that some buildings are open for limited hours or require advance registration. Visit the DOV website to read the building descriptions for more information.

Events like DOV attract hundreds of thousands of participants in cities around the world, including London, New York and Toronto.

DOV was a quick start action identified by the Mayor’s Engaged City Task Force, and is brought to you by the City of Vancouver in partnership with Urbanarium, Vancouver Public Space Network, the Vancouver Heritage Foundation, Tourism Vancouver and Cascadia Green Building Council.
