The Vancouver designer has been selling her jewellery privately for a dozen years to a small clientele who found her work via other designers.  In the past, her trunk shows were invitation-only events with other old-fashioned artisans in Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, and Toronto.

“It’s a lovely way to sell my work,” Carson says. “Very low-key and friendly.”

She caters to that audience of women who create a unique look by employing tailors, milliners, and other artisans in the bespoke wing of the fashion industry. Her handcrafted pieces are made from semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, and sterling silver and they have a timeless quality that professional women favour.

“My clients might own a classic Coach bag or well-worn Burberry trench, but they’re not fans of overpriced masstige brands that make them look like everyone else. They want something original,” Carson says.
