WHAT: Cause We Care supporters, volunteers, board of directors and founder Andrea Thomas Hill will be stuffing and delivering over 600 hampers at their 8th Annual Christmas Hamper Drive. Each hamper is worth well over $120 and full of gifts plus essential food items that will be delivered to local single-mother-led families at 19 front-line organizations, transition houses and inner city schools.

WHO: Since 2007, Vancouver’s Cause We Care Foundation has been supporting front-line organizations including subsidized housing facilities and inner city after school programs aimed at supporting single moms.

WHY: British Columbia has the second highest child poverty rate in Canada and female single-parent families are the hardest hit. Year-round Cause We Care’s goal is to support single mothers and their children in need through a range of initiatives, including after-school care programs and emergency financial support, but at Christmas time especially they want to relieve some of the pressures and help single mothers provide for their families.
