Red, White and Drunk All Over Book Review

Red, White and Drunk All Over BcoverNatalie MacLean’s book, Red, White and Drunk All Over is one of the best wine books I’ve ever read.  Her book is humorous, informative and covers a range of topics from the importance of real estate (terroir) – “location is everything”, to the diverse approaches to making wine, the mystique of champagne, the competitive aspects of wine retailing, glassware, and food and wine.  As a wine maker and a wine judge, I especially enjoyed the chapter on wine writers and critics where she thoroughly presented the whole can of worms dealing with describing, assessing, evaluating and scoring wines. Natalie’s romantic, yet practical, love affair with wine is apparent throughout.

No matter what your level of wine interest, I urge you to give this book a read. You’ll be glad you did.
