New Year’s Sparklers

Time to check out my cellar to see what bubbly I’ll open to ring in the New Year.  I always try to keep a few on hand and at least some of them in my cellar’s mini fridge.

I have a magnum of Sumac Ridge’s Stellar Jay Brut, always a favourite and two from 8th Generation, Integrity and Confidence (pink).  There are also two from Haywire, Pink Bub and Baby Bub.  From Intrigue, the romantic I Do and Distraction Frizzante from The View.  Besides these BC wines, I also have a bottle of Pol Roger Brut Champagne.  Tough decisions will have to be made.

What will be your bubble of choice?  White or Rosé?  Traditional Champagne?  Italian Prosecco, a Spanish Cava or German Sekt?  There are also many sparkling wines from California.  Feeling adventurous? Perhaps you’d like to try a sparkling Australian Shiraz.  If you happen to head to one of BC’s Signature Liquor stores, you’ll find over two hundred sparkling wines to choose from.

We are very fortunate to have so many quality festive wines to choose from in BC including:

Backyard Blanc de Noir

Bella Chardonnay, Gamay Noir

Blue Mountain Brut

Gray Monk Odyssey, Odyssey Rosé

Orofino Moscato Frizzante

Stoneboat Piano

Summerhill Cipes, Ariel, Gabriel

See Ya Later SYL Brut

Therapy Fizzio Therapy

Happy New Year!  Ching, ching.
