Romance is in the air this Valentine’s Day at VanDusen Botanical Garden and select Park Board facilities

Why give a bouquet when you can share a whole garden? Enjoy a romantic stroll and delicious picnic in beautiful 55-acre VanDusen Botanical Garden!

A special Valentine’s Day package includes classic tunes in the plaza area, a couple’s selfie at an on-site photo booth and dining al fresco amongst the trees or overlooking a picturesque lake between 10 am and 4 pm on Saturday, February 14. VanDusen is a great place for walking, admiring the botanical blooms, and spotting local wildlife. The event will run rain or shine, and a limited number of tables and chairs will be set up under tents at viewpoints throughout the garden.

Tickets for two cost $42 and include garden admission plus a delicious picnic lunch from Truffles Café with two gourmet sandwiches, cold drinks and chocolate covered strawberries. Register at vancouver.ca.

If a garden isn’t your thing, dive into a pool or spin around on the ice at select Park Board pools and rinks!

We’re colouring the city’s largest swimming pool—Hillcrest Aquatic Centre—pink at 11 am on February 14 in honour of Valentine’s Day. The pool schedule is available at vancouver.ca.

Put your loved one on ice! Enjoy a skate at these rinks with two for one admission: Hillcrest (3:30 pm-4:45 pm), Kerrisdale (6:45 pm-8:30 pm), Killarney (5:45 pm-7:15 pm), Kitsilano (2:30 pm-4:00 pm), Sunset (1:15 pm-2:30 pm), Trout Lake (3:30 pm-5:00 pm) and West End (2:30 pm-4:30 pm). Glide to classic tunes and enjoy free hot chocolate, treats and prizes.
