Returning for its third year, the largest Pet Show in Western Canada, the Vancouver Pet Lover Show, will be once again taking place at TRADEX in Abbotsford. This year there will be exciting and engaging seminars and featured performances for both old and young pet lovers. Apart from exhibitors offering unique products to improve your pet’s life and informative speakers that will teach you the most effective ways to interact with your cats, dogs, horses and birds, the Vancouver Pet Lover Show is bringing back some of its most popular featured performers (as well as some new ones!) that are sure to put a smile on your face. The list of Show features is endless, however here is a sneak peek of what to expect at the event this year:

Canadian K-9 Detection

Based out of Vancouver, Canadian K-9 Detection boasts the cutest and most people-friendly contraband-smelling dogs around. Their furry and outgoing team will be at the Pet Lover Show, demonstrating their incredible noses in front of the audience. Once they find something “hidden,” they sit patiently in front of the object waiting for their trainers to arrive. Try and trick them if you can – demonstrations at the Show will be kid-friendly and interactive, as the team will be hiding small pieces of foam and paper that have been covered with various scents of illegal substances in backpacks for the dogs to sniff out and find.

Mike the Reptile Guy

Mike Hopcraft (AKA The Reptile Guy) is the founder of the Reptile Rescue and Education Centre in Abbotsford, BC. Mike will be returning to the Show and exhibiting his most exotic and eye- catching reptiles, amphibians and arachnids to event attendees. Mike has been working with these striking creatures for over 20 years and introducing them to people in a safe, friendly environment. Stop by Mike’s booth at the Show and who knows – maybe he’ll even let you hold one of these stunning animals.

Kira M’Lot

Kira M’Lot will be at the Vancouver Pet Lover Show for the third straight year, and will be leading dog agility performances. Kira and her dogs have starred at the PNE and many other venues across the Lower Mainland. Her canines will be competing against one another through an obstacle course, performing jumps, going through tunnels, and of course entertaining the audience!

Vancouver Rabbit Agility Club

Rabbit Agility – what’s that? At the Pet Lover Show, rabbits will be running through a carefully designed obstacle course, just like their canine counterparts, only smaller and cuter! Olga Betts Mel Goulet and Tiffany Fok will be bringing adorable bunnies to the Show and demonstrating all the tricks in front of our young pet lover audience. Get ready to see rabbits bob and weave through the course.

Tipton Horsemanship

Working with horses since 1986, Ian Tipton has managed stables, trained riders and taught clinics with all sorts of breeds and sizes. Horses have been a part of Ian’s family for generations and Ian prides himself on his ability to listen to horses in order to connect them with their riders. Ian is based out of Merritt, BC, and this is his first time at the Vancouver Pet Lover Show – he will be demonstrating the different horsemanship styles available to riders. Ian will be bringing both American Quarter horses and Iberian horses to the event.
