‘Tis the Season to CELEBRATE!

A Good Noise Christmas in Vancouver and Richmond

Annual holiday concert features local guitarist David Sinclair
with the glorious voices of Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir

Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir (GNVGC) presents the treasured annual tradition, CELEBRATE! A Good Noise Christmas, December 11 & 12, 2015, 8pm at Christ Church Cathedral, and December 13, 2015, 3pm, at Fraserview MB Church. In this joyous holiday concert, which sells out each year, the 90-member choir performs yuletide gospel favourites coupled with popular seasonal works alongside Vancouver’s own acclaimed guitarist, David Sinclair.

A Good Noise Christmas is considered by countless music lovers across the Lower Mainland to be the can’t-miss concert experience of the holiday season,” says Gail Suderman, Artistic Director, Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir. “For more than a decade, audiences have filled the pews to celebrate the spirit of the season. With feet tapping, hands clapping, and bodies swaying, concert-goers rejoice in the rousing works of the gospel Christmas repertoire. This year, I’m delighted to welcome to the stage a very special guest, guitarist David Sinclair, who adds his exceptional talent and passion to the choir’s power and exuberance.”

With a longstanding and accomplished career as a celebrated guitarist, Sinclair has collaborated with a distinguished list of some of the biggest artists of the Canadian music scene, including Bryan Adams, k.d. lang, Michael Bublé, Sarah McLachlan, among others. For CELEBRATE! A Good Noise Christmas, Sinclair performs dynamic guitar solos during the performance of arrangements by Sting: the hauntingly beautiful Gabriel’s Message, and the Celtic-influenced Soul Cake. The in-demand musician also shares captivating solo works from his own instrumental recording, Acoustic Christmas.

Further concert highlights will include the modern Christmas classic, Mary, Did You Know?, covered recently by celebrated a cappella group Pentatonix, and gospel versions of the traditional Spiritual Go Where I Send Thee, and the much-loved carol, Away in a Manger. In addition, the choir will perform the gospel hit made famous by GRAMMY-Award winning singer CeCe Winans, Let’s Celebrate Christmas, as well as invigorating songs by well-known gospel artists such as Michael W. Smith and Richard Smallwood.

The following esteemed musicians perform alongside GNVGC: Michael Kalanj (organ), Laurence Mollerup (bass), Elliot Polsky (drums), Ingrid Stitt (saxophone), and Artistic Director Gail Suderman (piano).
