This week it’s all winter warming BC reds including a trio of Cabernet Franc.

Garnet black in colour with deep intensity. Aromas of earth, dark fruit, spice and cocoa on the nose. Good balance. Bright fruit dominated the palate followed by a medium-long finish. A good wine to pair with grilled chicken with a rich tangy BBQ sauce or grilled Italian sausages.

Garnet red in colour with deep intensity. The nose shows aromas of dry chocolate, forest floor, dust, plum and cassis. Well balanced. The flavours follow the nose. Fruit lingers on the finish. Serve with rack of lamb or prime rib.

This wine shows good concentration. Garnet red with deep intensity. Aromas of dust, blackberry, black currant, bramble and spice on the nose. The balance is good with firm ripe tannins. The flavours follow the nose. Dry herbs on the finish. Serve this with a rustic dish such as an oven-roasted meat and root vegetables.

Be sure to decant this wine for at least an hour. The rewards are worth it. Garnet red with deep intensity. Bright fruit on the nose with aromas of cherry, bramble, dust, spice and hints of blueberry and violets. Well balanced with smooth ripe tannins. Good fruit on the palate with flavours echoing the nose. A lingering finish.

This easy to drink Similkameen wine is ruby red in colour with medium-deep intensity. Cherry, raspberry, violets, dust and sweet spice on the nose. Well balanced with smooth ripe tannins. Bright fruit on the palate that lingers on the finish.
