If Pigs Could “Moo” Popular Pig Out festival signals that summer isn’t far away

Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association’s ode to food & wine Pig Out Festival set for April 30th 2016

Celebrating its fifth year, the Pig Out festival offers a perfect way to herald the coming of the summer season in Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country.

On Saturday April 30, Covert Farms will be the backdrop for the annual vineyard pig roast, which brings together chefs from eight local restaurants, including Platinum Bench Bakery, Watermark Beach Resort, Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards and Covert Farms.

Between 1-4pm the chefs will be showcasing their hog roasting skills at the outdoor-tented festival, which takes place amongst the beautiful organic vineyards of Covert Farm in Oliver. Every year, Pig Out celebrates a different culinary theme and this year will be no different. In keeping with the If Pigs Could “Moo” theme, a cornucopia of dishes featuring BC beef will be offered alongside the wineries of the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association, pouring new releases and fan favourites.

This year three new members have been welcomed into the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association family and will be pouring at Pig Out: Lariana Cellars, Bordertown Winery and Blue Sky Estate Winery bring the membership count up to 39.

Pig Out tickets ($55) are available online and include entertainment from local musicians, a souvenir wine glass, and of course, lots of great food and wine. Make a weekend of it and take advantage of Watermark Beach Resort’s special Pig Out rates from $160 per night between April 29 and May 1.
