Roll up your sleeves and let’s start baking!

Faubourg Paris, Vancouver’s trio of boulangeries-pâtisseries, launches Macaron Classes at Faubourg Kerrisdale.

Whether you are a wannabe pastry chef or you’re simply looking for something fun to do for a bridal shower, birthday party or even a team building event, this hands-on class led by Faubourg’s Pastry Chef Ricardo Rosas is sure to make everyone happy.

Held every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the 6 people class casually starts with a French breakfast and a little bit of theory, while the rest of the session focuses on the creation of perfect macarons, from start to finish. Ricardo begins with a demo of making macarons before the students get started. They are provided with all the  tools and ingredients and are taken through all the steps from creating the batter to piping and finally assembling the macarons with the ganache. Through the close supervision of Ricardo, students will learn the sophisticated techniques to obtain the perfect look, texture and taste. While the macarons shells are baking, a well-deserved lunch is served to the students and after the break, students can finally sandwich the macarons and reap the fruits of their hard work.

“Macarons are notoriously finicky but learning to make macarons can actually be quite simple when you have the right equipment and can see how it’s done, with step-by-step instructions. I am excited to share with the students the tips and techniques I’ve acquired through years of practise.” says Ricardo Rosas, Head Pastry Chef at Faubourg.

Each class is $150 per person and includes continental breakfast, lunch, a box of macarons, a kit to make another batch of macarons at home at a booklet with everything you need to know about macarons.
