Clear and brilliant. straw coloured with medium-light intensity. A varietal nose showing aromas of stone fruit and honey with a hint of sweet spice. Good balance with good mouthfeel. Ripe stone fruit flavours dominate the palate followed by a medium-plus finish.

 

2014 Pinot Gris (Reserve)

Hillside Estate

Naramata, BC

Golden straw in colour tinged with copper. The nose shows aromas of pear, tropical fruit, citrus and delicate floral notes. Well balanced with good mouthfeel. Ripe pear, creamy, spicy and citrus flavours on the palate. Winemaker Kathy Malone has done well with this one. Cheers!

Gray Monk

This is a varietal that many are not familiar with. Gray Monk has made this is an off-dry, social style. Golden yellow in colour with medium-light intensity. Peach, apricot, honey and citrus aromas on the nose. Well balanced with a sweet entry but enough acid to make it balanced. Good mouthfeel. The flavours follow the nose followed by a medium-plus finish. This very tasty wine is great for an afternoon luncheon with its low alcohol.

This wine is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc. It is garnet red with deep intensity. Red fruit, vanilla and spice on the nose. Well balanced with smooth ripe tannins. The flavours echo the nose followed by a medium-long finish.

 

2013 Invictus (Bordeaux Blend)

This generous wine is a blend of 42% cabernet franc, 38% merlot, 13% cabernet sauvignon and 7% malbec. Garnet red in colour with deep intensity. The nose is layered and complex with aromas of plum, cassis, spice and chocolate. Well balanced with smooth ripe tannins.   The flavours follow the nose followed by a medium-long finish. An impressive example of what BC can do with this style of wine.
