2011 Mosaic (Bordeaux Blend)

Hillside Estate

Naramata, BC

$39.99

2011 was a challenging year for making BC red wines, however the better growers cropped heavily, leaving just a few bunches on the vines to ripen and thus were able to make good wines. This wine is garnet red in colour with medium-deep intensity. The nose shows aromas of dried plum, spice and chocolate. Good balance. The flavours echo the nose followed by a medium plus finish.

2013 Rosé (Gamay)

Haywire

Summerland, BC

$22.90

The colour is an orange-tinged salmon pink with medium-light intensity. The nose displays aromas of cherry, strawberry, rhubarb herbs and floral notes. Well balanced with good mouthfeel. Integrated flavours on the palate followed by a medium-long finish. This concrete tank fermented and aged wine pairs well with seafood, charcuterie or a cheese platter on a sunny patio.

2012 Contriband Syrah

Moon Curser

Osoyoos, BC

$28.90

Garnet red in colour with a purple rim (unexpected in a four year old wine) and deep intensity. The nose shows classic Syrah aromas of blackberry, black pepper, earth and spice. Good balance with firm tannins and medium body. Fruit flavours dominate the palate followed by a medium-plus finish. Fire up the BBQ for an Argentinian style ‘asado’.

2013 Syrah

Kismet

Oliver, BC

$23.00

This wine has aged beautifully. Garnet black with deep intensity. The nose is rich with aromas of blackberry, black cherry pepper, spice and vanilla. Very well balanced with velvety tannins. The flavours echo the nose and linger on the finish. Classic Syrah from the Dhaliwal brothers that hits all the notes.

2014 Beaudacious (blend)

Beaufort

Comox Valley, BC

$20.00

Usually aromatic fruity white blends should be consumed shortly after they are bottled to be at their best, however, a couple of years aging hasn’t hurt this blend of Schonburger, Pinot Gris and Epicure at all. Pale straw in colour with medium-light intensity. The nose, as expected, is aromatic and inviting with juicy peach, apricot and floral notes. Off dry, but well balanced with enough acidity to be crisp and refreshing on the palate with bright mouth-watering fruit lingering on the finish. Bring on the scallops and prawns.
