BC BREWERIES GET CRAFTY FOR A CAUSE

Event Highlights the Rise of Craft in BC

On August 17th 2016, Liberty Merchant Company will proudly present the third annual Best of Craft BC – an annual fundraiser supporting the Greater Vancouver Food Bank  (GVFB), a non-profit which helps provide 26,500 people with access to healthy food every week. Last year’s event saw nearly 200 craft-beer enthusiasts converge at The WISE Hall (1882 Adanac Street, off Commercial Drive) to sample pours by the provinces best breweries. The selection is not just restricted to craft beer, with the event also featuring spirits, mead, and cider – plus food samples from Commercial Drive businesses.

British Columbia, and East Vancouver in particular, is quickly becoming known as the Craft Beer Capital of Canada – a reputation earned by the sheer number of quality craft breweries popping up each passing year. BC Craft Breweries have been embraced by locals and visitors alike – with tours being conducted all over Vancouver dedicated solely to craft beer. For an industry so engrained into the local culture and street scene, these tasting fundraisers serve a dual purpose –  to give back to the community that helped them prosper and to continue spreading the word of the high-quality and unique brews to be expected from BC craft breweries.

Tickets to Best of Craft BC can be purchased at any Liberty Wine Merchants location for just $24.99 plus the donation of a non-perishable food item at the door. Canned tomatoes are preferred.
