VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW SETS SAIL  WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18th

Say an early goodbye to winter and start your boating season this week with the Vancouver International Boat Show.

Start the boating season early this year at the Vancouver International Boat Show running this Wednesday, January 18th to Sunday, January 22, 2017. The 55th annual show will host more than 250 exhibitors, and over 140 seminars and a fantastic line up of features that will keep the whole family entertained.

This year’s show highlights a vast array of the latest products as well as educational speakers and guests. From Bravo’s hit television show Below Deck helmsman Captain Harold Lee Rosbach, who oversees command of a 154’ superyacht, to Kelowna’s Formula 1 driver Mike McLellan and the NMEA 2000 ® ConnectFest, no one can afford to miss the show’s many entertaining and educational attractions.

Opening day at 1 PM, BC-based company Port House will be unveiling the new Cutwater 302 Sport Coupe for the first time in Canada. The Cutwater 302 Sport Couple is a twist on the already successful Cutwater 302 family cruiser. Named for its open design that lets you embrace the outside from within while keeping you as close to the action as possible. A perfect fishing boat, it comes equipped with 30 gallon live well, large fish box, rod holders, and sink. The C-302 Sport Couple is sold fully equipped and ready to for the open waters. To see more features and find out more information about C-302 Sport Couple visit booth 627 at BC Place.

Event highlights include the return of the Hands-On Skills Training (HOST) clinics at the Granville Island Floating Show, with sessions designed for those who want to learn fundamental close quarters boat handling skills.  A real hands-on experience that puts you at the helm, these free, first-come, first-served learning events will help attendees develop all-the-necessary skills that will last a lifetime, enhance the boating experience and decisively prove that B.C. is just better on a boat. Reserve your spot by visiting the Vancouver International Boat Show website. (http://www.vancouverboatshow.ca/education/hands-on-skills/).

Walking on water is possible when the individual is attached to a flyboard. A group who includes members of Canada’s flyboard team, Team Canfly, will demonstrate one of the newest water sports around, flyboarding – when an individual is elevated up to 45 feet in the air using jet propulsion technology – at this year’s Granville Island Floating Show.

In addition to all of these features, the Show has a Kids’ Zone equipped with a Nautical Play Centre that is filled with arts and crafts, paddleboat rides and interactive displays.

The Vancouver International Boat Show will have its two beautiful locations with free shuttle buses and water ferries operating continuously between BC Place and Granville Island.
