SEAFOOD WITH A SIDE OF SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY

 

The Holy Crab grand opens TODAY Wednesday, February 1

 

It is time to roll up those sleeves, don those splash-proof bibs, and get feasting as The Holy Crab brings its version of the traditional seafood boil, Louisiana-meets-West Coast, to Canada for the first time. Grand opening on February 1, 2017 and located at 1588 Robson Street, the 2,900 square foot, 92-seat restaurant aims to focus on sustainable seafood offerings in a casual and friendly southern-inspired setting.

“Vancouver is known as one of the seafood capitals of the world,” explains Henri William, owner of The Holy Crab. “We knew we had to open the first The Holy Crab Canadian location in Vancouver, given the availability of such fresh and local seafood here. We are excited to open our doors soon and hope diners will relish delving into the shellfish with their hands. It might be messy, but definitely a fun experience, especially when shared.”

 

The Holy Crab has partnered with suppliers to bring the best selection of local and premium sustainable seafood to its tables, with many of them Ocean Wise. The main menu currently includes a variety of seafood such as Dungeness crab, King Crab, Snow Crab, lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels, oysters, and crawfish. Seafood is boiled and served with a choice between garlic pepper or The Holy Crab’s signature Cajun sauce.

In addition to seafood, the menu also includes hot sides such as chowders and bisques, as well as snacks such as calamari, onion rings, and crispy soft-shell crab. Diners can enjoy their meal with a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and soon (in next two weeks), alcoholic beverages with a selection that includes beer, cocktails, and wine. Meals typically average $30 per person, depending on dishes ordered.

 

The Holy Crab officially grand opens on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Hours are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. Reservations accepted. For more information, visit www.theholycrab.ca.
