OCEAN PEARLS UNFURLED: BOULEVARD KITCHEN & OYSTER BAR MARKS ANNUAL FOOD DAY CANADA CELEBRATION WITH EXCLUSIVE OYSTER-THEMED DINNER

Restaurant Toasts Country’s Farmers, Fishers and Chefs By Hosting Communal Four-Course Dinner Highlighting Homegrown Canadian Ingredients

The team at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar will raise a glass to this country’s rich culinary heritage and mark the annual celebration known as Food Day Canada — as well as World Oyster Day — by hosting an elegant four-course communal dinner at the downtown restaurant on Saturday, August 5.

The evening opens with a reception and champagne sabering sponsored by Taittinger and continues as Executive Chef Alex Chen and Chef de Cuisine Roger Ma serve up a bevy of bivalve-inspired dishes that includes Chilled Cucumber Gazpacho with Crispy Oyster, Oyster Chowder, and Salmon Wellington with Oyster Hollandaise. Tickets are available for $70 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.

What was initially launched in 2003 as the World’s Longest Barbecue in response to sanctions imposed on Canadian beef exports has since evolved into Food Day Canada — an annual midsummer culinary celebration of the country’s regional diversity, abundance of fresh products available from farms, fisheries and ranches and the homegrown talents who prepare and plate them.

“Food Day Canada falling on the shoulders of World Oyster Day presents us with the perfect opportunity to not only pay homage to this country’s rich culinary history but also celebrate the people who provide us with a bounty of fresh, local ingredients each and every day,” says Chen.
