2014 Chardonnay (Coyote Bowl)

Church and State

Oliver, BC


Golden yellow with medium-light intensity. Apple, citrus, honey and butter on the nose. Well balanced with good mouthfeel. The flavours mirror the nose with added toasty notes followed by a medium-plus finish. I paired this with grilled chicken skewers and Greek salad.



2011 Cabernet Franc (Collector’s Series)

Cassini Cellars

Oliver, BC


A few years resting in the cellar have helped this wine develop greater complexity. Garnet red in colour with medium-deep intensity. The nose shows aromas of bramble, earth, red currant, red fruit and wet slate. Well balanced with full body and smooth silky tannins. The flavours carry over from the nose followed by a medium-long finish. Serve with a charcuterie plate, BBQ’d chicken/ribs or pork tenderloin.


2015 Chardonnay

Tinhorn Creek

Oliver, BC


Lemon yellow with medium-light intensity. Butter, toast, vanilla and apple on the nose. Very well balanced with unctuous mouthfeel. Well integrated oak and fruit on the palate followed by a medium-long finish. This is the type of wine I enjoy while cooking dinner.


2015 Quill Pinot Noir

Duncan, BC


Made from 100% Cowichan Valley grapes and only 175 cases produced. Garnet red in colour with medium-plus intensity. The nose shows aromas of cherries, strawberries, spice, earth and forest floor. Good balance with smooth firm ripe tannins. The flavours echo the nose followed by a medium-plus finish. This paired very nicely with teriyaki chicken.


2016 Quill Rosé

Blue Grouse

Duncan, BC


222 cases were made of this 100% Vancouver Island Rosé. Made from a blend of Gamay Noir and Pinot Noir. Bright cherry red colour with medium intensity. Strawberries, citrus, cherries and rhubarb on the nose. Good balance with good structure. Bright fruit on the palate followed by a medium finish. A very nice, thirst quenching, food friendly rosé.

He has offered wine education and appreciation courses for Pacific Breeze Winery, Capilano College, Eden West fine foods, the Richmond School District Continuing Education department, the VAWA, the BCAWA as well as for various private functions. He also trains staff and offers cellar evaluations.
