Mark your calendars: ticket lottery for the 10th annual Half Corked Marathon opens October 23rd

The race is on for places on the 18km fun run through Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country on May 26th, 2018

There’s only one way to get your hands on tickets for the two-time finalist for the Canadian Tourism Awards Event of the Year – the  Half Corked Marathon – and that’s to enter the 2018 ticket lottery, open between October 23rd at 9.00am and October 30th at 11.59pm.
Lucky entrants, selected at random, will receive the opportunity to purchase two tickets to the hottest event in the Okanagan Valley: the tenth annual Half Corked Marathon, which will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 in Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. The 18km run through the wineries and vineyards – in many occasions weaving between the vines – and the party at the finish line, draw over 1100 wine lovers and their friends to the region every year, many embracing the spirit decked in imaginative costumes.
“We are so excited to announce the lottery for the tenth year celebration of this incredible event – recently recognized again for Event of the Year,” says Jennifer Busmann, executive director of the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association, founders of the race. “We can’t wait to show off our incredible region over this magical weekend, with added events for 2018 including a series of intimate winemaker vineyard dinners and much more!”
Inspired by the legendary Medoc Marathon in Bordeaux, the Half Corked Marathon pays homage to one of Canada’s most decorated wine regions. Participants are encouraged to sample wines from the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association along the way, paired with celebrated regional cuisine from local chefs, restaurateurs and café owners, as they run or jog the 18km route. Spectators can join in the fun and enjoy wine tasting, music and local food trucks at the Finish Line Lunch and throughout the weekend as participating wineries will be offering special events, deals and open days. Local hotels, resorts, B&Bs and RV parks will also be offering special rates and packages for the weekend.
Tickets for the marathon cost $175 plus tax per person, distributed via the lottery process. After sign up, each lucky person randomly chosen from the database will have the chance to purchase two tickets for the event. Tickets for additional weekend events (including the pre-race Primavera! Dinner and vineyard winemaker dinners) will be announced shortly. Sign up to the Oliver Osoyoos e-news letter for more.
