The Westin Bayshore Makes the Most of Summer in Vancouver

A poolside paradise awaits visitors and locals alike, with seasonal experiences and a special menu of delicious indulgences

You needn’t be a visitor to Vancouver to take advantage of one of the city’s greatest urban oases. The Westin Bayshore — situated at the edge of Stanley Park, overlooking Coal Harbour and the North Shore mountains — is a choice destination for anyone seeking to make the most of the hot summer days to come. From its outdoor pool experiences (including seasonal fitness classes), to cocktails and bites from H2 Rotisserie & Bar that are tailor-made for alfresco lounging, The Westin Bayshore is a staycation unlike any other.

H2Oasis
From July through September, spend a day in and around The Westin Bayshore’s spectacular outdoor pool. Available to non-hotel guests, the H2Oasis Summer Pool Experience begins when you arrive with a complimentary amenity kit containing sunscreen lotion, sunglasses, and lip balm. Your all-day pool pass includes a reserved chaise lounge, access to changing cabanas, and a $25 credit to enjoy items from the H2(O) pool menu, which includes a selection of home-style comfort food. Day rate is $125 per person (based on availability); reservations at 604.682.3377.

Liquid Yoga + Liquid Fit
Explore the unique benefits and challenges of Liquid Yoga in The Westin Bayshore’s beautiful outdoor pool. Atop floating Aquamats, certified instructors guide guests through a slow-moving flow class that offers a fun and playful way to balance the mind and body. Additionally, The Westin Bayshore has introduced Liquid Fit, which allows guests to test their stability while using water for resistance, balance, and alignment feedback. Experienced instructors guide guests through warm-up, dynamic movements, and cool-down for a balanced, well-rounded workout.

The Liquid Yoga and Liquid Fit classes are 60 minutes each, and are offered on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, and on Thursday evenings, and are available to hotel guests for $25, and to locals for $30. The 5 Class Pass is available at $125 for those looking to build Liquid Yoga into their regular routines, and a private class booking option for 6 guests is available for $150. Reservations and schedule: Online via MindBody or by phone at 604.682.3377.

H2(O) Menu
After working up an appetite at the pool, reward yourself with one (or more) of the made-for-summer indulgences from the H2(O) menu. Begin with a selection from a list of BC draught beers and wines by the glass, or choose a seasonal cocktail (blueberry piña colada, anyone?) or slushie of the day. Pair it with one of the Light Bites, such as mixed salted nuts, roasted red pepper and artichoke dip, or pulled-chicken tacos; a variety of refreshing salads; starters such as deep-fried pickles and West Coast IPA-brined chicken wings; mains including a certified Angus burger, and fish and chips; and a decadent choice of sweet treats for dessert, including a peanut-butter bar with milk-chocolate ganache. Kids 12 and under get to indulge with a menu just for them, featuring pasta, pizza, sliders, and more.
