CAFÉ MEDINA HOSTS ‘AFTER DARK’ FUNDRAISING DINNER FOR VANCOUVER CRISIS CENTRE THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4

Latest Edition of ‘Medina After Dark’ Lights up the Night with Six-Course ‘Elements’-Themed Dinner, Full Proceeds to Local Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Charity

As part of its ongoing commitment to support local causes, Café Medina will host an after-hours culinary fundraiser for The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC (Crisis Centre) during the latest edition of its ‘Medina After Dark’ dining series on Thursday, October 4 at 7 p.m.

Two members of Café Medina’s kitchen team, Chris West and Kirk Bueckert, have collaborated to prepare a six-course ‘elements’-themed menu pairing three savoury and three sweet dishes that showcases Bueckert’s background in pastry and West’s flair for cooking more savoury fare.

The full proceeds from each $75 ticket — with optional wine pairings available onsite for an additional $50 per person — will be donated directly to the Crisis Centre, a local volunteer organization providing emotional and mental health support and 24/7 regional crisis phone lines for youth, adults and seniors in distress across the province.

“We are firm believers in giving back and showing our gratitude whenever possible,” says Café Medina Owner Robbie Kane. “As mental health issues are prevalent not just in the community at large but in the hospitality industry as well, we’re aiming to play a small part in continuing a very important conversation.”

The latest Medina After Dark event is just one of a number of ongoing fundraising initiatives organized by Café Medina, which regularly supports such local and national charities as the BC Hospitality Foundation, the Movember Foundation, CLICK, Mission Possible and Mealshare, among others.

A limited number of tickets for the Café Medina After Dark Dinner on Thursday, October 4 are available for $75 per person plus tax, gratuity and ticketing fees, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Vancouver Crisis Centre. Tickets may be purchased online via medinacafe.com/events/.
