UVA Wine Bar is welcoming all excitable Vancouverites to a one-night-only cocktail battle that will pit UVA’s very own bartending talent against one another in the“Battle of the Bedazzled – A Mexican Standoff” competition on Sunday, April 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at UVA Wine Bar, 900 Seymour St. in Vancouver.
Join the crowd as the most exciting home-base bar competition of the season culminates with UVA bartenders Kenneth Rose, Ian Dayang, Tim Hoult, Lily Duong, and Arthur Wynne vying for bragging rights, an Apple iPad and a coveted spot competing on behalf of UVA in the BC Hospitality Foundation’s annual “Dish ‘n Dazzle” fundraising event on Thursday, May 1.
“Although an internal company competition, this event was based on an idea to get bartenders in their home establishments — their brothers and sister — excited to compete and learn from each other,” said Mote. “Ryan Cheverie of Brown-Forman andJay Jones of the BC Hospitality Foundation, both being bartenders for several years, were my first choices for event partnership. They both understand the value of investing in your team, and giving them educational and showmanship incentives to work towards. This competition has already captured the excitement of UVA’s staff, and you can expect to see interesting cocktails on Sunday.” |
