Vancouver Farmers Markets are celebrating the bounty of BC berries this week at their 6th Annual Berry Festival, which takes place Wednesday at Main Street Station Market and Sunday at Mount Pleasant Market.
This family friendly event will feature a BC Berry Pie Bake Off, which invites all comers both pro and amateur to enter their favourite berry pie for a chance to win great prizes. Judging takes place Sunday at Mount Pleasant Market, and shoppers will have a chance to sample the different entries by donation.
Other Berry Festival activities include a berry themed food swap, special edition recipes and berry sampling, and fun kids activities with BC Blueberry Council and BC Recycles.
