Come in for a spell at VanDusen Garden this Halloween!

During the first-ever VanDusen Glow in the Garden<http://vandusengarden.org/events/vandusen-glow-in-the-garden/>, up to 1,000 pumpkins will be illuminated and displayed next week in the shadowy pathways of the woodland gardens.

The event includes spellbinding lights, ghoulish music and glowing pumpkin characters created by award-winning carvers, Clive Cooper and Bruce Waugh.

The Garden gets into the Halloween spirit every evening between October 24 and 31.

Children can create fun Halloween crafts, while parents can pick up a pumpkin and hot apple cider at the Taves Family Farms pop-up shop on the plaza.

Clive will also offer live carving demos on October 24, 27, and 30. It can take him up to six hours to carve an intricately designed pumpkin.

Come to VanDusen in costume and share photos with #VanDusenGlow for a chance to win a grand prize!

And don’t forget to check out the Ghost Train in Stanley Park<http://vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/ghost-train.aspxOctober 8 to 31. Prepare to be thrilled and chilled by La Llorona, La Catrina and other mischievous souls in celebration of the Day of the Dead! Be serenaded by a mariachi band, ride the train through the tunnel of flames with the Aztec Lord and Lady of Death, and join us in a graveyard where friendly souls return to dance.
