Head Brewer Azlan Graves Takes the Chain off ‘Hazy Chain’, Showcases IPAs with Style-Focused Tap Room Flights, Feature Four-Packs to go from Retail Store Next Door
Main St. Brewing New Hazy Chain
Main St. Brewing will show ‘ale’ its love for one of the world’s most popular beer styles by launching its new ‘Hazy Chain’ New England IPA (NEIPA) and offering limited-time-only features in its tap room and retail store at 261 E. 7th Avenue in honour of National IPA Day this Thursday, August 4.
For Hazy Chain, Main St. Head Brewer Azlan Graves intertwined Sabro Lupomax and Triumph hops and Citra Incognito hop oil, Maris Otter heritage and raw wheat malts, and a bio-transformative, thiolized yeast strain to produce a juicy 6.1% ABV brew with distinctly tropical notes and flavours of fruit cups, coconut, and pineapple.
Hazy Chain is the second entry in the Mount Pleasant brewery’s ’60s-themed ‘Hazy Series’ showcasing NEIPAs that began with the launch of ‘Mindtrip’ in April. The series turns back the clock to a groovier time and place when peace, flowers and free love were in plentiful supply and Vancouver was vibrating in its own summer of love, and each entry spotlights new-age techniques and unique combinations of hops such as Vista, Triumph, Nectaron and more sourced from purveyors like Charles Faram, Hops Connect and John I Haas.
To celebrate the launch and National IPA Day, Main St. will offer an IPA-focused feature flight comprising Hazy Chain, its Tunnerman’s ‘Old Head’ English IPA, 2022 Canadian Brewing Awards Silver Medal-winning Naked Fox IPA and a guest Kveik IPA from North Vancouver’s Shaketown Brewing for Happy Hour pricing of $11.25 plus tax from Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7.
At the Main St. retail store just next door, ’Foxes on the run can also grab a Feature IPA Four-Pack that includes 473-mL cans of Hazy Chain, Mindtrip, Old Head and Naked Fox to enjoy on the beach, in the park or at home for $16 plus tax and deposit per pack while limited supplies last.
