Kawartha Dairy has opened their first Western Canadian location
in Britannia Beach
Ontario’s most beloved ice cream and dairy brand now open
7 days a week in Britannia Village
Kawartha Dairy, Eastern Canada’s most beloved ice cream shop and dairy has opened its first location outside Ontario in Britannia Beach’s newly opened Britannia Village retail and services complex. The store softly opened on April 10th inside the restored 70-year-old Britannia Mine community church building. Open 7 days a week from noon-8pm, it will offer 35 flavours of its legendary ice cream along with milkshakes to enjoy on the inviting patio facing Britannia Creek and ice cream tubs to take home.
Kawartha Dairy was founded by the Crowe family in 1937 and remains family owned and operated by the same family that started it in a small town nestled between two lakes in central Ontario. Kawartha Dairy has 13 retail locations in Ontario and sells its famous ice cream through partner scoop shops and local grocery stores across Western Canada.
Every scoop of its rich and creamy premium ice cream is still made the traditional way in using 100% Canadian fresh milk and fresh cream right from Canadian farms. It is then turned into ice cream in about a day after being delivered. Kawartha Dairy has something for everyone with a range of gluten free, reduced sugar, and lactose-free ice creams as well as dairy-free sorbets.
The historic Britanna Village location was a perfect fit for its first store in Western Canada. Set steps away from the beautiful waters of Howe Sound, en route to one of Canada’s most popular tourist destinations, Kawartha Dairy is excited to join the Sea to Sky community.
“We’re so thrilled to open our Britannia Beach shop,” said Mike Crowe, 3rd generation owner of Kawartha Dairy. “We fell in love with the location the minute we saw it and are excited to make great family memories with Western Canadians.”
