Little Folks, Big Fun:
A magical place for children of all ages at the
Vancouver Folk Music Festival at Little Folks Village!
This summer, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival invites families to step into a world of creativity and wonder at the Little Folks Village, located on the East side of Iy̓ál̓mexw / ʔəy̓alməxʷ Jericho Beach Park just north of the Main Gate. Open Saturday July 19 & Sunday July 20 from 10am to 5pm, kids of all ages are invited to explore this vibrant and playful space, where creativity and imaginations run wild!
From parachute play to arts and crafts, Little Folks Village is where live musical performances lift your spirit, and captivating stories touch your heart!
Children 12 and under are FREE (must be accompanied by an adult.)
A Weekend Packed with Family Fun
On Saturday, families can enjoy roving stilt performances and juggling with Redbird & Friends, interactive storytelling and costume parades inside the magical Nylon Zoo dragon. Indigenous storytelling by the beloved Haida storyteller Kung Jaadee is sure to delight audiences of all ages. The day also features a marimba ensemble performance by youth from Saint James Music Academy.
Sunday keeps the magic going! Redbird & Friends are back elevating the fun, with more high-flying stilt-walking and circus antics. The Nylon Zoo returns with storytelling inside the inflatable dragon, followed by an energetic costume parade. A special performance by students from the Sarah McLachlan School of Music will sprinkle magic and rhythm through the air, with a unique opportunity for the little folks to try the marimbas themselves!
Throughout the weekend, little ones can unleash their creativity with a wide array of fun and engaging materials at the Creation Station. Explore exciting art activities with Art Vancouver and the Green Apple Art Center. Come and enjoy the Festival weekend where imagination runs wild and families come together through music, movement, and wonder.
