“The Pumpkin Patch is about more than just pumpkins — it’s a tradition and a true celebration of all the things that make autumn one of our favourite seasons down on the farm,” says Lucas of Richmond Country Farms. “From wagon rides and corn mazes to animals, live music, and the smell of delicious food in the crisp fall air, whether you’re here with family, friends or little ones, it’s a real opportunity to make memories that last a lifetime.”
The Pumpkin Patch is also available for school bookings that are a popular annual fall adventure for thousands of students, especially for pre-school and elementary-aged children who visit the farm to experience the magic of the pumpkin patch. Attendees are delighted by costumed entertainers like Polly Pumpkin and Strawberry Shortcake and talented musicians, enjoy singalongs to music in the hay, travels past duck ponds and waterfalls, and wanderings through whimsical décor and gorgeous fields adorned with corn stalks, sunflowers and authentic old buildings relocated from Transylvania.
Admission for school groups is $10 per student and adult or chaperone, with complimentary admission for one teacher per every ten students. For more information or to book a trip, call 604-274-0522 or send an email to richmondpumpkinpatch@gmail.
One of the very first farm-to-table markets in the area, Richmond Country Farms has been family owned, rooted in the local community and visited by more than 10,000 guests since it opened in 1978.
From those humble beginnings it has since blossomed into an attraction that showcases a popular farmer’s market featuring produce grown fresh on the farm, a Country Vines Winery where guests can sip handcrafted, small-lot estate and Okanagan wines around the fire in a cozy outdoor lounge and a picnic area surrounded by fields and flowers, and a popular space to attend seasonal festivals and events with the whole family.
