Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne: Strategic Shift
Confirmed with a New Appointment

Officially introduced to the staff on September 10, Édouard Mognetti will assume his position as Deputy Managing Director of the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne on November 24, 2025. His mission will be to lead the strategic shift initiated last spring and to strengthen the commercial momentum of the Cités.

A hands-on professional trained in Bourgogne

Édouard Mognetti, 38, brings a strong track record in the wine industry. After four years as Director of the Interprofessional Wine Board of Centre-Loire (2020–2024), he took the helm of the School of Wine & Spirits Business in Dijon (BSB) in May 2024 — a globally recognized institution dedicated to wine and spirits education and research.

He knows Bourgogne well, having earned his Specialized master’s degree in International Wine and Spirits Business at the same BSB in Dijon. He also gained valuable experience at Veuve Ambal, where he spent nearly three years as Sales Administration Manager.

With this appointment, the interprofessional organization is placing its confidence in a well-recognized figure within the wine world, whose expertise spans management, communication strategy, and international development. A major asset to support the transformation and global influence of the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne, both in France and abroad.

A Strengthened Momentum for the Cité

The arrival of Édouard Mognetti reflects a clear ambition to boost the commercial momentum of the Cités network —both in terms of visitor engagement and private events— by positioning the Cité as an exceptional experiential destination.
The closer collaboration with the Bourgogne Wine Board aims to highlight the Cités and their scenography as the true public communication arm of the Bourgogne wine industry. The Cité is set to become the leading gateway to Bourgogne’s vineyards for both wine enthusiasts and professionals.

The Cité: An Exceptional Showcase for Bourgogne Wines

Convinced that the Cité is both a remarkable tool and a true center for interpreting and understanding the Climats of the Bourgogne vineyards, Édouard Mognetti explains: “We aim to strengthen its appeal both in France and internationally. Our focus will be on enhancing the visitor experience — particularly through the existing playful and multisensory tours — while expanding and tailoring the range of services to ensure greater visibility and accessibility. Finally, energizing and developing the École des Vins de Bourgogne will be among our key priorities and growth areas.”

First Major Autumn Event: “Vignobles en Scène” on October 18 & 19

The Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne is fully engaged in this new national event dedicated to wine tourism, with an exceptional program celebrating the “Rising Stars of Bourgogne” —lesser-known AOCs that truly deserve the spotlight!

In addition to the immersive scenographic tour, the program for October 18 and 19 includes:

• The Village Vigneron (Winemakers’ Village)
Beaune (Les Accords Bar) and Chablis (Ponti’ Bar): 10 am to 6 pm
Winemakers will present their rising stars. Expect instant favorites— and the opportunity to purchase your favorite wines directly!
Mâcon: The visit concludes with a tasting of three rising stars, offering a delicious immersion into the diversity of the Bourgogne vineyards.

• A Traditional Mâchon Bourguignon
Beaune and Chablis: 11:30 am to 2:30 pm
In Bourgogne, conviviality is sacred. Visitors can enjoy a typical local mâchon (Bourgogne-style snack) to prolong the experience.

The Cité invites visitors to join an exclusive 45-minute masterclass— “Bourgogne’s Hidden Gems” — led by passionate experts.

New Exhibition in Beaune: “Prix de la Jeune Création Artistique”

From November 14, 2025, to January 4, 2026, the Cité in Beaune will host a new exhibition organized by Domaine Méo-Camuzet and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art et Design (ENSAD) of Dijon.

The contemporary works on display explore themes linked to viticulture, vineyards, and the Climats of Bourgogne, as part of the “Prix de la Jeune Création Artistique” — an initiative now in its fourth edition, celebrating emerging artistic talent inspired by the world of wine.
