Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker Presented by RBC returns to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre with a sparkling new approach running December 18 to 21, 2025. This lavish production continues to be a cherished seasonal favourite for families across the Lower Mainland and beyond, with its breathtaking choreography, regal costumes, and enchanting music.

Experience Clara’s dream come to life as she embarks on a magical journey through the Land of Snow, across the Lemonade Sea, to the Kingdom of Sweets, where she is greeted by the enchanting Sugar Plum Fairy. An unforgettable adventure awaits as her gallant Nutcracker Prince battles the evil Mouse King and his army of mischievous mice. Audiences can expect all the themes they love; imagination, wonder, and the warmth of holiday tradition, brought to life with innovative artistry and classical grandeur.

“Every year we find new ways to bring imagination to life in this beloved holiday tradition,” says Chan Hon Goh, C.M., D. Litt, Executive Producer and General and Artistic Director of Goh Ballet. “The show’s spectacular costumes, memorable characters, and emotional storytelling combine for an enchanting family experience that celebrates Vancouver’s cultural vibrancy. This year’s production promises familiar holiday joy with inspired flourishes certain to delight longtime fans and newcomers alike.”

As Vancouver’s only production of The Nutcracker to feature a live orchestra and international guest stars, audiences will be treated to the iconic score of Tchaikovsky performed by members of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra under the masterful direction of Maestro Leslie Dala.

Now in its 15th year, Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker brings together more than 250 performers, ranging in age from 6 to 77, for a vibrant celebration of artistry and community. This large-scale production is a testament to Goh Ballet’s commitment to nurturing Canadian dance talent and fostering a love of the performing arts in the next generation.

Adds Goh, “The celebration begins even before the curtain rises with our World of The Nutcracker experience. From the moment you step into the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, audiences are welcomed by the magnificent Mother Ginger along with holiday songs and scenic photo booths, as well as delights from the boutique filled with seasonal favourites.”

Every detail in the lobby is thoughtfully designed to enrich the experience and is included with your ticket.
