Castillo de Monseran Garnacha
Dark red black colour. Intense plum, damson and blackberry aromas. The palate is soft and lush, with rich flavours of dark fruit. The tannins are present without being firm. A great wine for tomato-based pasta dishes, cold cut platters and mixed tapas.
WINEMAKING NOTES
The berries are fermented via different means, depending on the nuances and qualities inherent to a specific plot. In order to preserve the wine’s fruity exuberance, it is bottled within one year of the harvest.
VITICULTURAL NOTES
We cultivate a selection of superior parcels in the Cariñena district of Aragon, planted at between 350 and 700 meters above sea level. The high volume of old bush vines allows us to harvest very ripe and healthy grapes, packed full of phenolic compounds. Diurnal temperature variation is also a vital part of the quality equation: stark differences between day and nighttime temperature helps to maintain acidity in the grapes.
TASTING NOTES
The wine offers a deep crimson colour and aromas of plum, blackberry and redcurrant. It delivers ample richness, revealing lush dark fruit on the mid-palate. Yet the finish is elegant.
PAIRING NOTES
This wine would cut through tomato based pasta dishes with aplomb.
