THE JILLY BOX INC.’S SOCIAL IMPACT INITIATIVES SURPASS $1 MILLION DONATED TO BC- AND CANADIAN-BASED CHARITIES SINCE 2019
B Corp-Certified, Women-Led Lifestyle Brand Builds on Its Commitment
To Make Lasting Social Impact and Support Community at Large
Canadian B Corp-certified lifestyle brand and direct-to-consumer marketplace The Jilly Box, Inc. is celebrating a major milestone, having reached more than $1 million in donations to local and national charities through its social impact initiatives over the past six years..
Co-founded in 2019 by Jillian Harris and Tyler Evans, The Jilly Box has evolved from a quarterly subscription box into an eCommerce shopping destination that supports Canadian, women-owned and equity-deserving brands. Today, the company operates both seasonal boxes and a year-round online marketplace that connects conscious consumers with purpose-led products, while creating meaningful scale for the businesses behind them.
With each quarterly Jilly Box, the company donates $40,000 to local charities and organizations that endeavour to make the community better. In 2025, the quarterly contributions from The Jilly Box amounted to $160K and were donated to Baby2Baby and the Okanagan Mental Health Services Society, Central Okanagan Food Bank and Helen’s Acres, Mamas for Mamas and the Red Cross Vancouver Lapu Lapu Festival Appeal, and Kelowna Women’s Shelter and Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Foundation.
Since 2019, The Jilly Box has provided approximately $1.14 Million in monetary, in-kind and fundraising donations to 80 BC- and Canadian-based causes and charities that include: the BC Women’s Health Foundation, Make A Wish Canada, Central Okanagan Food Bank, Variety BC – Show of Hearts, the Jasper Food Bank Society, Camp Courage, QMUNITY, the Canada Ukraine Foundation, and more.
“The Central Okanagan Food Bank has been blown away by the generous support of The Jilly Box, which has donated $60K over the last few years to our critical programs and operations,” says Central Okanagan Food Bank’s Georgia Wiggins, Fundraising & Corporate Coordinator. “Going above and beyond with their kindness, their team has even graciously contributed their time and energy to helping build hampers and sort food for the thousands of families that come to us for essential food assistance each month. Having the support of The Jilly Box is invaluable in helping spread the word about the importance and relevance of food insecurity in the Central Okanagan. Their contributions are a great help in providing nutritious food to those who need it most.”
In addition, The Jilly Box team works on various initiatives throughout the year that have a charitable or ‘give back’ component that allows them to react and support the local and global community in real time, such as West Kelowna Firefighting during the wildfires that devastated the area in the summer of 2023.
The Jilly Box and Jillian Harris Design teams are also offered paid staff volunteer time, amounting to more than 1,800 hours or 75 days over the past four years.
“This milestone is proof that business can be a force for good,” says The Jilly Box CEO Julia Freeman. “As we continue to grow, our commitment remains clear: supporting the well-being of children and families, empowering women through education and entrepreneurship, and strengthening communities across Canada through meaningful investment and partnerships.”
Since 2021, The Jilly Box has also bolstered its commitment to community and education by funding an annual $2,500 scholarship to provide financial support and mentorship opportunities to Black and Indigenous and Students of Colour attending Okanagan College.
The news of the $1 Million mark achieved by The Jilly Box comes during March’s dual occasions of International Women’s Month and B Corp Month and underscores the women-owned company’s focus on purpose over profit.
