Loam Bistro Introduces Golden Hour Weekend Menu

Loam Bistro Introduces Golden Hour Weekend Menu,
New Brunch Cocktails and French Bistro Classics

A new late-afternoon dining experience, brunch cocktails
and classic French dishes add to the restaurant’s evolving menu

Loam Bistro is giving guests more reasons to linger with the launch of Golden Hour, a new small plates menu available Fridays through Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m., beginning November 13. Built around a simple ingredient-driven concept, the menu highlights five anchor ingredients – prawns, fish, cheese, vegetables and beef – with dishes that draw inspiration from global flavours and cooking techniques.

Designed to change every few months according to seasonality and ingredient availability, Golden Hour offers a new way to experience Chef Rahul’s approach to globally inspired cooking in the late afternoon. The inaugural menu features five dishes, including Chili Garlic Tiger Prawns with roasted red pepper and cashew sauce; Banana Leaf Fish with coconut curry sauce; Whipped Brie with mango chutney and grilled sourdough; Fire & Honey Carrots with spicy ‘Nduja and orange; and Beef Tartare Toast served on Japanese milk bread with truffle aioli and Parmesan.

“Just like our brunch menu, Golden Hour is globally inspired and gives us an opportunity to explore different flavours, ingredients and techniques from around the world,” says Chef and Owner Rahul Negi. “For this first menu, we’re bringing together dishes like chili-spiced prawns, banana leaf-wrapped fish and a classic beef tartare on our signature Japanese milk bread. We want it to be an easy, enjoyable way for guests to spend a little more time at Loam Bistro, whether they’re meeting friends or getting an early start to the weekend.”

Golden Hour will initially run Fridays through Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m., with Thursdays expected to be added in the coming weeks.

Loam Bistro Expands Brunch and Beverage Offerings

Loam Bistro has also officially obtained its liquor licence, opening the door to an expanded beverage program that will include new brunch cocktails and a rotating selection of wines from BC and international producers.

Upcoming brunch offerings will include classics such as Mimosas, Aperol Spritzes and Negronis, alongside signature creations including the Loam Bellini, Loam Lava, Espresso Cloud and Espresso White Russian. The cocktail menu will also incorporate global influences through drinks such as the Yuzu Gin Fizz, Matcha Gin Soda, Thai Milk Tea Vodka and Strawberry Cream Vodka.

A rotating selection of red, white, rosé and sparkling wines will also be available by the glass and bottle, featuring both local BC wineries and international producers. Further details on the new beverage offerings will be announced soon.

French Bistro Classics Join November’s Daily Menu

Responding to guest requests and the arrival of cooler weather, Loam Bistro is adding two French bistro classics to its daily menu exclusively throughout November.

French Onion Soup & The Dunker pairs slow-caramelized French onion soup, topped with toasted brioche and melted Swiss Emmental, with a crispy sourdough grilled cheese sandwich for dipping.

Also joining the menu is Beef Bourguignon, featuring beef braised slowly in red wine with mushrooms, carrots, pearl onions and bacon, served over buttery mashed potatoes.

With the introduction of Golden Hour, an expanded beverage program and seasonal additions to its daily menu, Loam continues to build on its globally influenced approach to dining, offering guests new reasons to visit throughout the day.
