7-Eleven Canada has today confirmed that, through this year’s Slurpee Name Your Price Day, its generous customers have raised a huge $109,900 by being given the chance to pay what they wanted for a large Slurpee. 7-Eleven is giving 100% of the donations raised to Food Banks Canada, supporting local food banks.
The $109,900 will have a significant impact on individuals in need across 7-Eleven communities seeking support from their local food banks in the coming months. The $109,900 donation is equal to providing Canadians in need with 330,000 meals.
Manitoba and Saskatchewan top table for highest donations
Slurpee fans from B.C. to Ontario showed their generosity on Wednesday, September 16 with Manitoba and Saskatchewan residents coming out on top, paying the most for their Slurpee drinks across stores. Ontario Slurpee fans also proved their commitment to the cause, increasing their donation from last year.
“Slurpee fans have once again demonstrated their commitment to a worthy cause,” says Raj Kapoor, Vice President and General Manager, 7-Eleven Canada. “We’re pleased to be able to help Slurpee fans significantly support those in need in our communities.”
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal customers for being so generous and for making it such a fun and exciting day.”
