#ThisWineThatDish | Robin Ridge Gamay Organic | Prawn Stir Fry

Intense blueberry and raspberry with subtle aromas of violets, exotic cinnamon and complex gamy notes. Bright, juicy, and fresh on the palate with flavours of raspberry, plum and long stony, mineral finish .

Fruity and rich but also pleasingly lighter tannins. Gamay is so versatile, it goes with so many things, from pizza to seafood.

Surprised? It goes very well with seafood and also with sweetish or tangy dishes like this one I paired with the Robin Ridge Gamay Organic.

Gamay was a great pairing for this Prawn Stir Fry dish.

It’s interesting that Gamay is less popular than a Pinot Noir, or maybe it’s just not planted as much in B.C. as it is in Beaujolais, perhaps it’s time that we appreciate what a Gamay wine has to offer.

It is common business knowledge that baby boomers outspend consumers from any other age cohort.

Marketers are missing out on billions of dollars in sales by neglecting the 55-plus “active agers,” according to research from the consultant, who splits his time between Boston and Toronto.

It’s a generation with a lot of influence. 55-plus account for more than 40 per cent of outlays. Millennials account for just 18 per cent of total consumer spending.

It Doesn’t Get Better Than Bordeaux

Yesterday was the media preview for the 2021 vintage release of Bordeaux wines. The much anticipated release date this year is September 28

The Bordeaux Release has been expanded to 56 BC LIQUOR locations to meet the high demand. Due to the limited quantities of some Châteaux, selections will vary across stores.

Although clearly wines of Bordeaux command a premium price there are a number of worthy wines that have a much more affordable price for those who are looking to add one or two Bordeaux wines to their collection, and especially for those who, up to now, have not ventured into the Bordeaux experience.

Fifteen Bordeaux wines were carefully selected by Barbara Philip, Master of Wine and Category Manager – Wines of Europe for the BC Liquor Distribution Branch for a media tasting.

Now on MyVanCity.ca you will find the pros wine notes along with my notes, prices, sku #s and recommended drink windows for the fifteen wines tasted. Prices of wines tasted range from $50. to $1500. with a selection of suggested wines under $200. (link in my bio) more in my stories.
