Quails’ Gate Winery is pleased to announce the release of a new series of wines made to honour its 25th anniversary. The wines, which include a Chardonnay, a Pinot Gris, a Pinot Noir and a Syrah, were made in very limited quantities and will be available for purchase starting Friday September 12th only at the Okanagan estate.
The Quails’ Gate estate has been family farmed since 1956. Dick Stewart purchased the property because he recognized it had the potential to be one of the Okanagan’s finest grape-growing areas. Over the years, the Stewarts transitioned from growing tree fruit and grapes to producing their own wines from their own land.
The family believes passionately that great wines begin in the vineyard and for this reason are deeply committed to sustainable vineyard and winemaking practices that protect and enrich the land at the same time as they result in outstanding wines.
The Anniversary Series wines were grown on specific family vineyard sites and are crafted to the highest standards in limited quantities:
•Rosemary’s Block Chardonnay 2012
•The Bench Pinot Gris 2013
•Richard’s Block Pinot Noir 2012
•The Boswell Syrah 2012
Each label in this series depicts a quilt made by Rosemary, who is the mother of the current second-generation winery owners. Like the wine, each quilt took years to produce and was crafted with the utmost attention to detail. The same dedication to quality is evident in the wines themselves, which are perfect expressions of the Quails’ Gate terroir and the family’s passion for excellence. The quilts, like the wines, were a labour of love that required patience as well as craftsmanship.
The Anniversary series wines will be available for purchase on Friday September 12th, only at the Quails’ Gate Wine Shop. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (80 cases each) are only available in the special Anniversary four-bottle box set. The Pinot Gris (790 cases) and Syrah (320cases) are available, with a three-bottle purchase limit. Cellar Door Club members enjoy premiere access and priority when ordering these and other limited release wines.
