The Hive Printing is a small artisan screen printing studio located in East Vancouver, run by Norbert Mantik and Rebekah McGurran. The studio prints Vancouver-inspired themes, often using archival maps and images, all printed in-house by Norbert and Rebekah.
Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Norbert Mantik has a background in industrial and graphic design. He was educated at the Ontario College of Art and Design and worked for many years in the aerospace and design industries. Norbert also has a passion for cycling and is a certified bicycle mechanic.
Rebekah McGurran was born in Vancouver, BC but has only recently returned after living for many years in Toronto, Ontario. She was educated at York University in Urban Planning and Environmental Studies. She is often fascinated by how cities change over time and shares Norbert’s passion for cycling and all things bike-related.
The shared passions of Rebekah & Norbert are evident in their design aesthetic. The Hive Printing started designing and printing its own designs during the summer of 2013 and participated in many juried and prestigious craft markets, including the Circle Craft, Make It, Got Craft and the Vancouver Farmers Market.
