Dames Wine is a unique fundraising project that celebrates the abundance of female talent in the BC Wine Industry while raising money for budding BC women to study food and drink.
The 2015 Dames White is a dry, aromatic blend of 80% Pinot Blanc, 10% Riesling and 10% Gewurztraminer. Light-bodied with a lively acidity, it makes for an ideal aperitif and also pairs well with shellfish and seafood, especially sushi. The 2013 Dames Red is an organic blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Syrah. It is a luscious, fruit-forward wine, with flavours of plum and toasty vanilla that complement charcuterie, cheeses and grilled foods. Both wines are made exclusively from Okanagan Valley grapes and were produced at Meyer Family Vineyards as a custom crush.
The recent release of Dames White and Dames Red donates 100% of all profits to the scholarship fund of Les Dames d’Escoffier, BC Chapter, funding educational scholarships for the women of British Columbia. Join Winemaker Mireille Sauvé, the creator of this new winery project, along with other members of Les Dames d’Escoffier, at Marquis Wine Cellars to sample these delicious wines, artfully paired with an assortment of cheeses and meats.
