A TOAST TO PRIDE: VANCOUVER BARS, RESTAURANTS TEAM UP TO SUPPORT DR. PETER AIDS FOUNDATION WITH INAUGURAL PRIDE CRAWL FUNDRAISER

Bars and restaurants across Vancouver will stand proud and pledge their support to the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation this July and August by taking part in the inaugural Pride Crawl Fundraiser to generate financial support for the Dr. Peter Centre in the city’s West End.

From July 14 through August 6, 45 establishments, and counting, will offer a variety of signature Pride-themed cocktails with partial proceeds to directly benefit the Dr. Peter Centre, which provides compassionate HIV care for British Columbians who face poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions and social isolation in addition to HIV.

Beyond raising funds for the Dr. Peter Centre, the Pride Crawl Fundraiser also aims to raise awareness of HIV and show support for the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Queer, Two-Spirited) community, which comprises the majority of persons who receive care at the Dr. Peter Centre.

“We are indebted to the generous support of an ever-growing group of local bars and restaurants for showing their pride and giving back to those living with HIV in a profound and meaningful way by taking part in our inaugural Pride Crawl,” says Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation Philanthropy Officer Brittany Grant. “We look forward to this event becoming a regular part of the annual celebration of Pride in Vancouver for years to come.”
