Charles Richard-Hamelin – piano recital

Ever since winning the silver medal at the 2015 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Canadian pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin has been winning plaudits wherever he leaves his musical footprints. No matter how prestigious it is to be successful at a musical competition, it is entirely up to an individual musician whether he or she continues to grow artistically. In this respect, Charles Richard-Hamelin has more than proven himself in the years since his success in Warsaw. If you have been a follower of this young artist, you will already know of his appearances in the world’s musical capitals, as concerto soloist, chamber music player as well as recitalist. He continues to explore new repertoire, and his interpretation of established repertoire continues to mature and deepen. We are delighted that Charles will be playing for Vancouver audiences again in a programme of Schumann and Chopin. This recital will also celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Poland’s independence. Following the recital, the Polish consulate will host a very special reception for all audience members. Come and drink a toast to Poland, and to Chopin.
