Raise a glass — and raise some funds — for BC food banks in a challenging season
Summer is often a time when food banks across the province struggle to keep their shelves stocked. That’s why JAK’S Beer Wine & Spirits is kicking off the summer sipping season by giving back to food banks across the province.
On Saturday, June 22 ten percent of sales from all JAK’S 14 locations will be donated to food banks across BC. That’s something we can all raise a glass to!
“Our busiest weekend of the year falls at a time when food banks across BC are struggling to keep their shelves stocked,” said Tim Dumas, Director of Sales and Marketing at JAK’S. “We see this as an opportunity to raise a glass with our guests, and raise money and awareness for food banks across BC at the same time.”
With 14 JAK’S locations across the province, local food banks will be supported in Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Penticton, Williams Lake, and Campbell River.
“The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is extremely grateful to JAK’S for donating 10% of sales from six of their locations in our catchment area! The GVFB has locations in Burnaby, New Westminster and Vancouver where we serve 7,000 people each week,” said Cynthia Boulter, Chief Development Officer, Greater Vancouver Food Bank. “The support of our communities means the world to us, and fundraisers like JAK’S Gives Back not only raise much needed funds, but they raise awareness about the ever-increasing need for food support across BC. With our 3:1 buying power, JAK’S donations will triple in value when we use them to purchase healthy, nutritious food for our clients.”
