CA PHE x LA GLACE
Vietnamese coffee ice cream collaboration exclusively featured at TAIWANfest
Summer isn’t over yet! TAIWANfest highlights Vietnamese culture at its annual festival this year, August 31, 2019 to September 2, 2019. To celebrate, Ca Phe Vietnamese Coffee House and La Glace Ice Cream have collaborated on an exclusive sweet drop found only at TAIWANfest – Ca Phe Ice Cream featuring Ca Phe’s Vietnamese coffee infused in custard cream with a coffee shortbread crumble.
“This was a natural partnership,” says Mark Tagualo, founder and culinary director, La Glace Premium French Ice Cream. “After tasting Ca Phe’s coffee during its limited Chinatown House pop-up, I knew I had to make an ice cream version out of it. I’m a huge fan of Vietnamese coffee. The coffee’s butter and rum undertones make it a perfect fit with my ice cream creations.”
Ca Phe’s dark coffee beans are custom roasted in butter in Vietnam. The single scoop ice cream will be served in La Glace’s signature branded cups for $5. Part proceeds benefit the Community Digital Lab at Chinatown House.
“Ca Phe is and continues to be a social enterprise,” says Minna Van, The Network Hub co-founder who has been working with Chinatown House since its inception. “It’s about giving back. We only partner with likeminded individuals who have a passion for community, and Mark certainly does. In the near future, Ca Phe is looking to enter the Vietnamese catering realm with a food menu too. So stay tuned.”
The Ca Phe x La Glace stand can be found near Granville Street’s 800 block during TAIWNfest from August 31 to September 2, 2019 and available until sold-out.
