Richmond’s Origo Club Announces New Daytime Hours, Menu Items for Café

RICHMOND’S ORIGO CLUB ANNOUNCES NEW DAYTIME HOURS, CAFÉ MENU, EXPANDED DINNER SERVICE SIX DAYS A WEEK

Culinary Team Adds Sweet, Savoury Delicacies, Artisan Coffee Selections, Earlier Seatings and New Sunday Dinner Services to Menu at Restaurant-Café-Art-Gallery Concept

Origo Club is giving guests even more reasons to visit the Richmond dining destination by introducing a new menu of pastries, sandwiches and artisan coffees at its café and expanded dinner services in its restaurant in addition to Afternoon Tea services on weekends.

Led by Chef David Pan, the Origo Club culinary team is sharpening its knives and renewing its focus on the restaurant’s signature French-inspired cuisine by now offering dinner services six days a week from Tuesdays through Sundays, with nightly seatings available a half hour earlier at 5 p.m.

At the Origo Club café, a new menu of housemade sweets and sandwiches takes the place of the lunch menu and are available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. The new offerings include viennoiseries and pastries such as: Tarte à la Pistache, $7; Gâteau au Fromage, $7; Coeur Noir, $8; Crinoline, $8; Opéra, $9. On the savoury side, the café will feature Croissant au Saumon Fumé, $14; Baguette Jambon Truffe et Fromage, $18; and a vegetarian option of Sandwich aux Légumes Grillés, $12.

Origo Club’s state-of-the-art coffee counter, café and tea bar will also offer five new types of coffee, including four pourovers — Pearla Negra, $7; Yirgacheffe, $8; Blue Mountain No. 1, $11; and Selected Geisha, $15 — as well as a new ‘Origo Blend’ house espresso comprising a grind of proprietary Origo-roasted beans.

The creative mind behind the new café menu is pastry chef Qing Qing An, who brings her passion and respect for time-honoured pastry techniques to the back-of-house team at Origo Club. An bolstered her skills with a measure of traditional French precision and panache while working alongside renowned chef Nadège Nourian in Toronto.

The Origo Club team recently celebrated the first anniversary of the Richmond destination where East meets West in a stylishly chic restaurant and café featuring French-inspired food and wine and an adjacent gallery of contemporary Asian art.
