As restaurant season kicks off in Vancouver, BC Ale Trail is showcasing craft beer pairings and promoting ale trail culinary experiences.
Dine Around & Stay in Town Victoria and Dine Out Vancouver (both running January 17 – February 2, 2020 ) kick off, and the BC Ale Trail team is there to encourage diners to include BC’s craft beers as part of the experience.
And those checking into either of the Vancouver or Victoria launches with their BC Ale Trail app (free mobile app) will earn an extra 25 bonus points towards free tastings and brewery merchandise.
“With the spotlight more and more on BC’s craft beer scene and its many award-winning beers, we are seeing restaurants build out their craft beer offerings and encouraging craft beer pairing on their menus,” says Monica Frost, Director of Communications, BC Craft Brewers Guild and BC Ale Trail Project Lead. “This is great news for the BC Ale Trail, as the next step in following in love with craft beer is visiting the breweries and the brewery teams, where all the magic happens.”
An award-winning culinary tourism experience, The BC Ale Trail provides visitors and British Columbians the opportunity to explore BC’s rich “beer-centric” culture through the breweries, providing comprehensive itineraries and route maps which link breweries across the province. It is an online or smartphone app that provides a self-guided tour of regional BC craft breweries along with other local experiences including restaurants, activities and accommodations. Proving very popular is the new BC Ale Trail app, which rewards beer lovers for visiting breweries along the various trails.
“This year is shaping up to be another stellar craft beer year for BC as more than 20 new breweries are expected to open,” says Frost. “We are seeing an increase in farm-based breweries who are growing their own hops and barley, while many are expanding their tasting rooms and food offerings. I believe we can safely say BC is the capital of craft beer tourism in Canada and we love supporting our restaurant partners during these winter festivals.”

About the BC Ale Trail
In partnership with Destination British Columbia and the BC Craft Brewers Guild, the BC Ale Trail emphasizes how a visit to or around British Columbia is enhanced with a pint of craft beer culture. With an increasing preference for local craft beer in BC and growth of artisanal beer in North America, the BC Ale trail embraces the “buy local” movement, helps showcase independent breweries, and connects visitors with the unique culture at the heart of communities all over the province.
