Call for BC Women to Apply for Food & Beverage Scholarships
BC Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier Applications Now Open Until January 31, 2022
Online applications for Les Dames d’Escoffier – BC Chapter scholarships are now being accepted until January 31, 2022.
Les Dames scholarships are open to any woman (or person identifying as female) who resides in BC and wants to further their education/careers in culinary, beverage, agriculture, aquaculture or hospitality fields. Les Dames BC will award $13,000 to successful applicants – a drop from past years’ amounts due to limited fundraising ability over the past 20 months.
Scholarships are open to women of any age and at any stage of their career who are looking to either refine or expand their expertise at a credible educational institution of their choice anywhere the world. Scholarships are awarded on merit, ability, commitment and passion. Applicants can be awarded more than once, depending on the circumstance. If a woman has previously applied and been unsuccessful, she is encouraged to try again.
This year’s scholarships are particularly meaningful given the extended impact of COVID-19 on BC’s food service industry. Scholarships allow women to gain a competitive edge by furthering their education thus enabling them to pivot if necessary to other sectors of the hospitality industry to survive these challenging times.
Les Dames d’Escoffier – BC Chapter has been awarding scholarships every year since its inception in 1992. Despite limited fundraising opportunities these past 20 months, Les Dames remain committed to supporting women who wish to further their careers through educational opportunities.
If you eat and drink locally or frequent local hospitality establishments, you are almost certainly reaping the benefits of Les Dames’ Scholarships, as recipients are to be found throughout the province and beyond. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2022.
Applications are available now on Les Dames website, click the Scholarships Tab in the top menu bar and then Applications from the drop down menu. Applications are reviewed and evaluated by Les Dames Scholarship Committee comprised of BC Chapter members. Successful applicants will be announced in March 2022.
