2022 Sauvignon Blanc
Mayhem
Okanagan Falls, BC
$20.97
Pale lemon yellow with medium-light intensity.  Lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, green apple, honey, toast, and grass on the nose.  Good balance.  Bright on the palate with citrus, melon, and tropical fruit.  A medium-plus finish.  At only 12% ABV, this is a lovely crisp and refreshing patio wine.

2022 Dry Riesling (Small Lot)
Fort Berens
Lillooet, BC
$25.99
Pale straw with medium-light intensity.  The nose opens with mouth-watering lime, apple blossoms, and minerality with undertones of peach and pear.  Good balance with a slight CO2 sparkle.  Lemon, lime, peach, with delicate floral and steely notes on the palate.  A medium-plus finish.  I expected this to be much drier than it was.  No mouth-puckering acidity here.  A versatile food wine.

2021 Chardonnay (McLean Creek Vineyard)
Meyer Family Vineyards
Okanagan Falls, BC
$32.26
Golden straw with medium intensity.  Well-integrated oak and fruit.  The nose is rich and varietal with aromas of apple, butter, toast, honey, brioche, vanilla, and a hint of pineapple.  Well balanced.  On the palate, there is an interplay of toast, butter, honey, apple, and citrus.  A medium-long finish.  Delicious.

2020 Merlot
Black Sage
Oliver, BC
$34.75
Garnet black with deep intensity.  Dark berries, cherries, plums, and violets on the nose.  Good balance with firm ripe tannins.  Pleasing fruit on the palate followed by a slightly hot finish.  This wine is still very young and should improve with an additional three to five years of aging.  If drinking now give it lots of time to breathe and serve with some big protein.

2021 Border Vines
Moon Curser
Osoyoos, BC
$32.99
This is Moon Curser’s nod to the wines of Bordeaux where wines are blended with up to six varieties to create the best wines possible.  This time Cabernet Sauvignon leads the parade with 35% followed by Merlot 32%, Petit Verdot 14%, Cabernet Franc 10%, Malbec 7%, and Carménère 2%.  Garnet red with deep intensity.  A classic nose showing aromas of ripe blackberries, black currants, cherries, plums, beets, earth, spice, toast and smoke.  Well balanced with smooth ripe tannins.  The palate is fruit-forward with a slight hint of smoke on the back end.  A medium-long finish.  Give this one some time to breathe so it shines.  Age-worthy through 2025-2030 (Some may note the mention of smoke and that it is a 2021 vintage and be concerned.  There was a touch of smoke taint but only to the degree of an added sprinkle of spice that adds to its complexity.  If concerned, drink it while it is young.)  Delicious.  We enjoyed this with a slow-roasted leg of lamb.
