Wednesday Wine Reviews with @Sam_WineTeacher

2021 Chardonnay (McLean Creek Vineyard)
Meyer Family Vineyards
Okanagan Falls, BC
$32.26
Lemon yellow with medium intensity.  The nose is fresh and appealing with aromas of lemon, lime, Golden Delicious apples, butter, toast, and honeydew.  Well balanced with a creamy texture.  The flavours mirror the nose followed by a medium-long lingering finish.  An absolute delight to drink.

2022 Orange Muscat
Lakeside Cellars
Osoyoos, BC
$22.00
Several wineries use a touch of Muscat in their aromatic blends, but I’d suggest more should make it as a single variety.  It can be a delightful wine on its own.  Golden straw with medium-minus intensity.  An aromatic and inviting nose showing aromas of honeysuckle, mandarin, nectarines, citrus, peach and a touch of floral perfume.  Good balance and mouthfeel and drier than the nose would indicate.  The aromas are reflected on the palate followed by a medium-plus finish.  A lovely patio wine or serve with cod fillets, scallops, or prawns.

2020 White Meritage (McWatters Collection)
TIME Family of Wines
Penticton, BC
$29.99
Straw coloured with medium-minus intensity.  Apple, lime, lemon, flint, melon, fig, pear juice, and hints of butterscotch and lanolin on the nose.  Very good balance.  The aromas follow through onto the palate followed by a medium-long finish.  Serve with a creamy seafood pasta.

2022 Pinot Noir (Okanagan Valley)
Meyer Family Vineyards
Okanagan Falls, BC
$24.43
Garnet red with medium-plus intensity.  A varietal nose displaying aromas of dried red fruit, cherry, raspberry, black pepper, black tea, cranberry, earth, forest floor, and violets.  Good balance with dry, ripe tannins.  Flavourful on the palate with aromas echoing the nose.  A medium-plus finish.  Decanting or aeration helps this wine to show its best.
