2020 The Leap
Nagging Doubt
Kelowna, BC
$28.40
Garnet red with medium-deep intensity. The nose shows aromas of dark cherry, plum, toast, dark chocolate, beetroot, mulberry, black raspberry, and cinnamon. Very good balance with good mouth-feel. The aromas are echoed on the palate along with red currants, menthol, and white pepper followed by a medium-long, slightly warm finish. I should have let this one rest in the cellar for a few more years (3-8). Decant and give it lots of time to breathe if opening now.

2019 Meritage (Odyssey)
Gray Monk
Okanagan Centre, BC
$39.99
Garnet red with medium-deep intensity. The earthy nose is layered with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, cherry, beetroot, spice, and tobacco leaf. Very good balance with ripe tannins. The flavours follow the nose. A medium-plus finish with lingering flavours of berries and chocolate. Definitely age-worthy. This wine really rounds out and shows its best with lots of time to breathe. Be sure to decant.
