Intensely Italian flavours and a lively chef collaboration at the hot, new DOPO.

ABOUT THIS VISA INFINITE DINING SERIES EXPERIENCE

Be among the very first to enjoy Calgary’s most highly anticipated new restaurant—and the return of one of the city’s favourite chefs. David Leeder, formerly of Teatro Ristorante and more recently the three-Michelin-starred Per Se in NYC, takes the reins at DOPO, the newest hotspot, the descendant of the Avenue Magazine and Canada’s 100 Best-anointed D.O.P. That alone would be worth the price of admission. But for this signature “Home and Away” experience, Chef Leeder welcomes his friend Justin Leboe, another revered chef with a passion for all things Italian. Chef Leboe will bring flavours and fresh mountain air from his Banff restaurant LUPO for what is sure to be a perfectly memorable taste of la
dolce vita in Marda Loop.

ABOUT DAVID LEEDER AND DOPO

Fresh off a stint as Executive Sous Chef at the three-Michelin-starred Per Se in New York, David Leeder is the Executive Chef at the intimate DOPO (whose name in Italian means “after”) in Calgary’s Marda Loop. Inspired by the restaurant’s predecessor, D.O.P., Chef Leeder brings years of experience cooking at Teatro Ristorante to the mostly Italian table, as well as prodigious skills earned at three-Michelin-starred Restaurant Martin Berasategui in Spain, Noma in Copenhagen, and Michelin-starred Frenchie in Paris. At DOPO, both Leeder and Owner Tony Migliarese share a passion for Italian cuisine which is deeply rooted in Migliarese’s family recipes and provides an opportunity for Chef Leeder
to dive deep into Italian techniques and flavours.

ABOUT JUSTIN LEBOE AND BANFF HOSPITALITY COLLECTIVE

Justin Leboe, the former Model Milk and Pigeonhole star (each earning an enroute Best New Restaurant award), has continued his gastronomic journey in the iconic mountain town of Banff. He joined Banff Hospitality Collective in March 2020, where he has consistently raised the profile of Banff as a culinary destination. Here, he has overseen the culinary programming and development of four new restaurant concepts, including Three Bears Brewery & Restaurant, Hello Sunshine, LUPO Italian Ristorante (No. 6 Best New Restaurant by Canada’s 100 Best in 2023) and, most recently, Bluebird Woodfired Steakhouse. Leboe received the coveted 2013 Pinnacle Award for Canadian Chef of the Year, and he was named the country’s most innovative chef by Canada’s 100 Best in 2016.

WELCOME TO THE VISA INFINITE DINING SERIES, WINTER 2025

Nothing adds warmth to a chilly winter day like gathering around a table and sharing food with friends both old and new, especially when those tables are at some of the country’s very best restaurants, and the food is curated exclusively for you by some of the country’s top chefs. Each Visa Infinite Dining Series experience features multi-course dinners, many featuring visiting chefs and exciting wine and cocktail pairings.

Be among the first to experience Canada’s most exciting new restaurants and nab the hardest-to-get seats at Toronto’s Michelin-recognized Azura, Calgary’s Dopo or Animl, the opulent new Toronto steakhouse from INK Entertainment. Enjoy the opportunity to experience rare chef collaborations when Toronto’s Michelin-starred Rob Rossi joins Phil Scarfone at Osteria Elio Volpe in Vancouver for an evening of authentic Italian fare or when Mimi Chinese welcomes celebrated Chef Brandon Jew of San Francisco’s Michelin-starred Mister Jiu’s.

Montreal’s Pichai is joined by the Sunnys Chinese team for a flavour-filled journey through China and Thailand. Calgary’s newest hot spot Dopo, and Banff’s Lupo, host two “Home & Away” culinary collaborations led by Chef Justin Leboe and Chef David Leeder, who recently returned to Calgary with dazzling Michelin-star experience at NYC’s Per Se.

Meanwhile, beloved long-time favourites are crafting special experiences just for cardholders, too. Among them, a 15-plus-course tasting menu in the dramatic 17th-century cellars that house La Tanière3 in Quebec City, a luxurious bdina, paired with wine knowledge from two of Canada’s most expert and engaging young sommelier-educators, Jenna Briscoe and Kelcie Jones. Winter is the season for comfort and conviviality, for heart-warming flavours best savoured with good company. We hope you enjoy these exclusive experiences we’ve cooked up just for you.
